The son of a barber and a homemaker, Ron Marchant learned early the values of hard work and personal responsibility. Growing up in Carrollton, Texas, Ron developed his work ethic by running a newspaper route, mowing lawns, and washing dishes in local restaurants. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Southern Nazarene University, Ron worked to pay his tuition by roofing houses.

After graduation, Ron worked as an Associate Professor of Graphic Design and Advertising at Southern Nazarene University. He later started his own advertising business. Ron returned to Texas, joining his brother Kenny in the home building business. However, when community leaders approached Ron about running for the Carrollton City Council to help bring accountability and leadership to the city, Ron decided to run for public office. Ron won his election and served two terms as a councilman for the city of Carrollton.
Ron's role as a public servant continued as he was elected to serve as Denton County's Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6. He served in the position for four terms before being elected to Denton County Commissioners Court for Precinct 2. Ron is currently serving his third term as a County Commissioner. Ron believes in conservative values both fiscally and socially, and is proud to say he's served you as a Republican throughout his service to Carrollton and Denton County.
Ron resides in Carrollton, Texas. He raised his three children (one son and two daughters) in Denton County and is the proud grandparent of two grandchildren. Ron is a graduate of R.L. Turner High School (Carrollton, Texas) and holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University (Bethany, Oklahoma).
